Cycling, the right way
For anyone starting a new system. Every new tank starts in cycling.
The nitrogen cycle
Ammonia spike: the source introduces ammonia and the system has not built nitrifying bacteria yet. Nitrite rise: Nitrosomonas establishes, ammonia drops and nitrite climbs, still toxic. Nitrate accumulation: Nitrobacter establishes, nitrite drops and nitrate accumulates, which is manageable. Cycled: ammonia and nitrite both at zero and nitrate steady, so it is safe to begin stocking.
Learn it from your own data
urAquarium teaches the cycle through your own readings. The dashboard shows where your system is in the cycle, what to expect next, and when it is safe to add livestock.
Different starts, different playbooks
Reef maturation, live-rock cycling and fishless cycling each have their own playbook.
